The Echo of the Four Directions
Boulder Colorado August 6th through August 15th 2026
This week-long council is an invitation to enter the living teachings of Tat Erick Gonzalez and the mission of Earth Peoples United. It is a gathering of hearts and communities coming together in remembrance that the Earth is calling humanity back into unity, healing, and shared purpose. Rooted in Earth Wisdom, the council, teachings, and ceremonies offer guidance for living in balance—with ourselves, our communities, and all of creation.
Oral tradition is the passing of wisdom from one generation to the next through stories, songs, prayers, and ceremony. It is more than words being spoken; it is the sharing of spirit, and living knowledge carried through the hearts of the people. We are honored to receive the wisdom of the ancient Mayan traditions through the counsel of Tat Erick Gonzalez, OmeAkaEhekatl.
This is an invitation to journey through the Mayan Medicine Wheel as a path of healing, remembrance, and transformation. This week, EPU offers an introduction to the four sacred directions and the four elements, which opens the doorway to understanding how ancient wisdom can help us navigate modern life.
Each element—Fire, Earth, Water, and Air—carries its own medicine and teachings. This brings healing and balance to our mind, body, emotions, and spirit. These elemental energies are held within the sacred directions of East, South, West, and North. As we move though each direction, we deepen our connection with the essence of these four elements and the wisdom they carry.

EPU offers an introduction to the four sacred directions and four elements, sharing how ancient Earth wisdom can guide us toward greater harmony and balance within our modern lives.
The first day of this sacred weekend journey explores the teachings of Fire in the East and Earth in the South.
Through the Eastern doorway of the rising sun and Sacred Fire, we reconnect with our passion, truth, and the light that lives within us. The Fire teaches us how to reignite the spirit and walk our path with greater truth, courage, and love.
Along the Southern path, we remember the medicine of the Earth—grounding, self-compassion, and the importance of nurturing strong roots within ourselves. Through this connection with Mother Earth, we cultivate peace, self-love, and restoration within the body, mind, and spirit.
These teachings will be followed by a Sacred Mayan Fire Ceremony and prayer, where offerings of the Earth are joined with the transformative power of the Fire.

On the second day of this immersive journey, we receive the teachings of Water and Air.
In the Western direction, Water carries the medicine of purification, emotional balance, and release. Through its wisdom, we learn to let go of old wounds, grief, and stagnation, returning to greater peace, clarity, and renewal.
In the North, the element of Air guides us into remembrance of who we truly are. Air teaches us to quiet the mind, open the heart, and listen deeply to the voice of spirit. Through this sacred direction, we begin to reconnect with the deeper path we are here to walk.
These teachings will be followed by a Water Blessing and Limpias Ceremony and prayer, where offerings of the Water are joined with Air.
Join EPU for a special evening celebrating 20 years of walking the Beauty Way and helping people reconnect with the wisdom of the natural and spiritual worlds. Gather in community for an uplifting night of live music, fireside counsel, meaningful conversation, and a farm-to-table dinner honoring the abundance of Mother Earth.
The evening will feature a panel of devoted elders, healers, and visionaries sharing wisdom about spiritual transformation, holistic health, and regenerative agriculture. Together, we will reflect on the path we have traveled and the future we are being called to create.
This celebration also serves as a fundraiser to support the ongoing mission of Earth People’s United and its work of guiding collective transformation for years to come. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and explore the Mayan Market of Joy, featuring beautiful handmade goods crafted by Mayan artisans. Proceeds from the market help support lineages of Weavers and preserve cultural heritage within communities in Guatemala.
Join us for an evening of inspiration, connection, and generosity as we unite in service for a more peaceful future.
Join EPU in a Mayan Fire Ceremony. We welcome you to step into a connection that extends beyond the individual—into the great web of life that holds us all. Mayan fire ceremonies have long been a way to carry good wishes, loving intentions, and prayers into the universe. The fire becomes a beacon—illuminating the path between this world, the spiritual realms, and the stars.
The Sacred Fire serves as a bridge between humanity and the unseen—ancestors, guardians, and the greater cosmic forces that guide and sustain life. Through the fire, prayers are spoken in a language beyond words. Traditionally, offerings are placed into the Mayan Fire for many purposes. Offerings are an expression of gratitude—a way of saying: we remember, we honor, we give back. They are also given for cleansing, healing, and transformation, helping to restore harmony within both the individual and communities.
Guests are warmly invited to bring a natural offering for the Sacred Fire the following day. Suggested offerings include dried herbs, flowers, copal resin, cedar or juniper foliage, and beeswax candles.
