  The 7th Annual Deer Mountain Wisdom Keeper and Youth Council is quickly approaching! August 9th - 13th, 2012

  Interest in attending continues to grow, so we have stretched our maximum capacity number to 130 people. We encourage you to reserve your spot early!

  We are offering a special price of: - $600 to the first 20 participants if you register by June 15th. - After June 15th, the fee to attend the council is $795

  This year your event registration fee will also include a year of Earth Peoples United membership (worth $260) to grow our community and support our Wisdom Keepers in offering their monthly teachings.

• Listen to the 2012 Spring Equinox Telegreeting & Mayan Prayer

  On Tuesday, March 20, 2012, Mayan Spiritual Leader, Tata OmeAkaEhekatl Erick Gonzalez offered the Earth Peoples United global community a Spring Equinox Telegreeting and Mayan Prayer. The community that came together included calls from different parts of the US, Canada, and even Cambodia! We left the call feeling very full of connection and gratitude ♥ ~Blessings to you all~

• Deer Mountain Reflections

  Now that the busy summer's activities have died down, we are reflecting on all that has happened at this sacred land of Deer Mountain since we were blessed to acquire it in 2006 with nothing but a barn and the amazing land itself. It is hard to believe it was only last year that Tata Erick and Nana Heddi moved into the first house on the land. Over the past five years, we have witnessed so many blessings here, including five annual Wisdom Keeper and Youth Councils and countless other ceremonies and work parties with so many beautiful relatives.  Not to mention the spectacular gifts from nature that have taken a home in many of our hearts and Spirits!

  This year we are so grateful to so many for giving their love, sweat, and energy to the land in the following ways:

  · Planted an additional 800 Ponderosa Pine seedlings this year. The seedlings we planted last year have really taken root (they have over doubled in size) and are on their way to growing into a new forest for the future generations!

  · Put up 600' of garden fencing around the terraced area that will be used to grow fruit trees, berry bushes, and other food and medicinal plants.

  · Built two outhouses for the camp.

  · Cleaned up the barn for storage use.

  · Harvested timber from the land for our 30' tipi poles and for the Council House.

  · Raised part of the roof of the Council House and made it functional for the summer's gatherings.

  In addition, there were all the efforts that having the camps require: cooking, cleaning, cutting and splitting firewood, setting up and taking down tents & tipis, collecting spring water, and so many other tasks! The love and care that was shared at Deer Mountain truly humbles us, and we pray that the blessings will come back to each and every one of you a thousand-fold.

  Currently, we are finishing taking down the camp, storing everything, and making sure everything is ready for the winter so that when the late spring arrives, we will be ready to pick up again with projects on the land!

  We would welcome any feedback and ideas from the people that were with us on the land this year so that we can spend the winter assessing and planning for what is possible in 2011. Please contact us at info@earthpeoplesunited.org.
